Poole Hospital, Dorset
The alwitra® single ply roofing system continues to be the first choice for hospitals and NHS Trusts across the country, with more than 200 major hospital and health facilities now using the company's high performance system.
The most recent addition to alwitra®'s portfolio of successful projects is Poole Hospital in Dorset, where the company's single ply roofing system was installed to the roof areas of a major extension adjacent to the main building. The project's architects chose to "design in" an exceptionally high level of waterproofing integrity by additionally specifying the company's TA Edge trims.
The hospital treats well over a quarter of a million people a year, providing acute medical care to the population of the Poole area and a number of other important services including pediatrics, maternity and trauma care to Poole, Bournemouth and the surrounding areas.
The Trust also provides a Dorset-wide neurology service and, as the designated Cancer Centre for Dorset, cancer care for patients across the county. As a vital community facility, it was imperative to install a system which could deliver superb, proven long term waterproofing and which formed part of an all-embracing system.
Exclusively available in the UK from ICB, the alwitra® system includes every component to create the most exceptional, high performance flat or pitched roof. The system is a regular favorite for Local Authorities, Housing Associations, PFI Health, Education and private specifiers across the country.
A range of membranes, including EVALON® V, EVALASTIC® - a chlorine and halogen free version for environment conscious specifiers, EVALON® SA with a self adhesive backing and Solar - the world's only photovoltaic single ply membrane - is supported by a wide range of accessory products.
Every component is finely engineered and designed to work in harmony to ensure long-term performance and absolute design and innovation freedom. All alwitra® roofs have a life expectancy in excess of 30 years and installations can only be carried out by one of the company's fully trained and licensed contractors.
