Easily moulded around the intricate new roof of the 100,000 sq ft Canterbury Court office development in Dorking, Surrey, alwitra® EVALON® V single ply roofing membrane was the perfect waterproofing solution.
During its redevelopment into modern and attractive offices, Canterbury Court received a new floor to create 40,000 sq ft of extra space. This included a state of the art roof, packed with environmentally friendly features.
Comprising a roof garden, plant, raised wind catchers and a lower central platform, the new roof posed a considerable challenge for roofing contractor, M.W. Contracts. With EVALON® V, developed by the leader in sustainable waterproofing solutions, ICB, specified by FSP Architects & Planners, the company was able to form the waterproofing solution around the many obstacles.
Designed to be a green building, Canterbury Court includes solar thermal water heating and two wind turbines. This was perfectly complimented by ICB's waterproofing solution‘s eco-friendly production process and ability to be recycled at the end of its life.
Specified for its world class waterproofing qualities, alwitra® EVALON® V is a unique membrane that provided the project with the ultimate low cost, long term solution to its waterproofing.
It can be fully adhered using a range of special adhesives, as well as mechanically fixed, loose laid and ballasted. Alternatively it can come complete with a specially developed self adhesive backing - ideal for flame/heat free environments.
Alwitra® EVALON® V is just one product in a wide portfolio of highly engineered products making up ICB's Ultimate Roofing System. This includes fine quality flashings, edge trims, roof lights, rainwater outlets and every component for extensive or intensive green roofs.
Set to home dozens of small businesses, the workers of Canterbury Court are assured that they will be working in dry conditions with thousands of square feet of EVALON® V above their heads.
