The Rolls-Royce of roofs

Coventry Transport Museum

With an 1898 Daimler Phaeton, a De Lorean ‘Back to the Future' and a 1914 Triumph Type C all under one roof, it needs to be a seamless one. Fortunately, 1,000m2 of single ply membrane Alwitra Evalon® V from ICB was specified to protect the Coventry Transport Museum.

Across the way from the museum, a development of apartments and commercial outlets, Priory Place, is completed in 2,000m2 of Alwitra Evalon® V. The museum swiftly followed suit, choosing it in light grey.

Home of the worlds finest and largest collection of British Road Transport, the museum underwent a £6.9 million redevelopment to increase its size to 13,000 m2. This made room for new Motorcycle and Commercial Vehicle Galleries, a refurbished ‘Landmarques' Gallery, a new Education Suite, a ‘Technocentre', Archives and a Library Resource Centre.

The museum refurbishment forms part of Coventry City centre's massive £1bn regeneration programme. Known as Coventry's premier visitor destination, it is now attracting record numbers of visitors, with more than 330,000 people from around the world walking through its doors in the past year alone.

Offering world class waterproofing qualities, Alwitra Evalon® V from ICB is a unique membrane that delivers the ultimate low cost, long term solution. It can be fully adhered using a range of special adhesives, as well as mechanically fixed, loose laid and ballasted. Alternatively it can come complete with a specially developed self adhesive backing - ideal for flame/heat free environments.

Alwitra Evalon® V is just one product in a wide portfolio of highly engineered products making up ICB's Ultimate Roofing System. This includes fine quality flashings, edge trims, roof lights, rainwater outlets and every component for extensive or intensive green roofs. Every ICB roof is protected by a comprehensive guarantee that gives cover for up to twenty years.
